True Strength
Happy New Year to all !
The Holiday's have always been an exciting time of the year for me ... I truly feel blessed and grateful for each New Year that comes and goes.
This year I wanted to spend Christmas Day with the wonderful and inspiring children and Hamilton's Sick Kid's Hospital...
My wonderful agent/consultant was able to arrange my visit with Sick's Kid's Hospital in Hamilton Ontario on short notice...
I have always been, since I can remember, the type of person that see's the world and all experience's as "The Glass Half Full" so once I told my friends, family, colleagues and local businesses that I was looking to raise money so I could buy each Child a Christmas Gift, without hesitation each one of the people mentioned above quickly placed their hands into their pockets and pulled out whatever funds they had on them at the time. I quickly raised enough money to clean out a Winner's Toy section.
I am blogging for a few reason's, first to say THANKS to ALL who donated to my important cause without hesitation and second to say THANK YOU to Jenny at Hamilton Sick Kids for spending her Christmas morning introducing me from room to room to each young child and their family. And last but not least, to all the amazing, strong, positive and polite boys and girls that were as excited to meet me, as I was to meet them, and spend time with them! I would love to write something about each child but I have to respect their privacy...
So I will put my entire experience into my last thought, just as I thought I knew what 'True Strength' was I now have to say these amazing kids have opened my eyes that much wider because each one no matter how sick they felt they still took a few moments to say hello and thank me for coming by on Christmas Day....Can you believe that people...THANKING ME !?! If anything I should be thanking them for showing me that no matter how bad, bleek or against all odds things looked for them, they still had a huge smile on their face, positive attitude about the days ahead and the politeness to say Thank You for the Toy and nice to meet you Sir...WOW, if I could recommend one thing to my reader's is please spend a few moments of your time helping someone in need because you will be amazed by the effect it will have on YOU!
Happy New Year and I wish you all a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous 2012 !!!
Sincerely,
JL
Get Inspired.
